Our Mission: Making mental health research and resources accessible

Khipú translates scientific literature and mental health resources to Hispanics.

Through storytelling, lived experience, translation of behavioral health research, data, and resources—along with on-ground community engagement and understanding—Khipu is redefining traditional mental health resource access and engagement.

We don’t advocate for the voiceless; we give them with a platform. We believe in empowering communities, creating sustainable change, and engaging people at every stage of the way. Khipu is for the people, by the people.

02

Our Approach:
Bottom-Up

Our framework is rooted in recognizing and understanding the past realities that forced communities into oppressive hierarchical systems that have an afterlife in today’s world: the exacerbated and perpetuated mental health crisis in BIPOC communities. We are not selling a product or consulting; we are learning from the lived experiences and stories of Hispanics and, based on their input, customizing resources that are sustainable and equitable to Hispanic communities.

03

Our Theory of Change:
Breaking Linguistic Barriers to Care

We work with local community members and policymakers to educate them about the lived experience Hispanics are facing and to infuse our knowledge in both, state and federal levels behavioral health policies.
